I assumed that our neighbor was using the only local company that had a website advertising the waterfree urinal.

The amount of water that can be saved was all explained on the plumbing fixtures page of the local people’s website. I cannot believe that I spent two hours reading all about it and I am not even getting one. My wife would never allow any type of urinal in our master bathroom, waterfree or not.

I did however ask the neighbor exactly when they were having the installation done and he told me that he had to wait for about three to four weeks for it to come in and then the plumbing fixtures company told him that they would schedule installation for shortly after that. I did not want to use it or anything, that would just be rude but I did want to see it once it had been installed and the neighbor guy told me that it would be fine.

The bathroom remodeler Raleigh NC company that was hired by our landlord just talked us into paying for built-in closets in our loft. I had always wondered what it would be like to have an actual closet instead of having to have little wardrobes all over the apartment. We were very open to the idea, but also knew that we first had to get our landlord to okay them, which he did.

My friend Sue is looking to hire a company to do some home renovations on her home that was built in the early 1800’s. I told her that maybe she should look for a Chicago restoration company that specializes in homes like hers. She wants to put in new windows and have new vinyl siding hung. Her husband told her to find a good vinyl siding contractor first and then they could look at everything else when they had the money. She wants to do all of the home renovations together and not drag everything out for years and years. So, she thinks she will get a package deal on the vinyl siding, the new windows, and everything else she thinks needs to be done. I told her that she should really talk to her husband and discuss everything but Sue is very stubborn and usually gets everything she wants. That’s why I know if she finds a good company then she will schedule the estimate and her husband will just have to go along with it. Since companies usually give free estimates these days, she shouldn’t have too much trouble setting that up if she can find a few good companies willing to come out and take a look. I wish her and her husband luck in this venture.

The iron gates that were installed at the neighbor’s house look awesome. I would have never guessed that by adding a set of iron gates at the end of the drive, you could completely transform the whole look of the house. I want to do the same but I do not want them to think that I am copying them. I also would have to get my husband to approve the whole thing and I am sure that he will say that we cannot afford it.

I am thinking that since I had an iron door installed last winter and then the same neighbor who just had the iron gates done, had an iron door installed, I am entitled to copy them. I love my iron door and by adding iron gates to the front of the house, it will highlight the front entry way. Not to mention, that by adding iron gates, you add a lot of security to your home too.

I think that I will have to try and use the whole security thing on my husband because I do not see any other way that he will go along with the whole idea of adding the iron gates.

I heard that if you replaced your old wooden windows with new vinyl replacement windows you could help reduce your energy costs. My heating and cooling bills are outrageous. I rent this house and have to pay all of the utilities. One month last winter my heating bill was over three hundred dollars. I could not believe it, and really could not afford to pay it. I borrowed the money from my parents to pay that very high bill. I called my landlord to ask him if he would consider getting estimates for vinyl replacement windows to help with the heating and cooling costs.

He said that if I called some home remodeling contractors and set up a few estimates then he would look at them and then make a decision. So I made a few calls and met with the home remodeling contractors myself and then called my landlord to show him the estimates. He agreed to have the work done and I scheduled it to be done as soon as possible. The contractors said that they could do it as soon as the windows came in. That only took about a week and a half.

The day that the windows were scheduled to be put in, I was so excited. After it was complete I called my landlord and he came to see the new vinyl replacement windows that he had paid for and was happy with the results.
