Alternative To Disposing Uncovered Used Cisco
Friday, August 28th, 2009Ordinarily the Company rules of Cisco do not permit its technical wing to undertake repairs of items that are not covered with warranty. Thus when such items go wrong your only way out is disposing them. However, there is an alternative. There are a number of leading companies in United States as well as world over those have invested quite a good deal of money in used Cisco products. They have also been investing a great deal in developing the hardware engineering time and the equipments that would develop the methods as well as the processes for repair of the Cisco equipments, both new and used.
Cisco however does not have provisions to repair non covered items. The companies have to take care of maintenance of such non-covered items on their own. Cisco even does not provide the schematics in such cases. Since the technologies are not very simple in respect of the Cisco products, these companies find it extremely difficult to get to the right path for repairing the products.
General experience of the companies undertaking such endeavor is that not all the products of Cisco are repairable. However many can be and they do not require any special Cisco repair either. Companies who have been putting up their time and energies for finding the way out have succeeded to some extent in addressing the problem. Of course genuine Cisco repair could address most of their difficulties in this regard.
