Reliable Server in IBM iSeries Server line

Monday, March 28th, 2011

For the most of my 5 years in the business, I have been using an ordinary PC to run my accounting systems, my database and other application. Then one day, out of the blue, my computer bogged down. It was a day of grief for me. My data was lost and though the technician was able to retrieve some, most were lost. After that day I looked for a reliable computer for my business need.

What I found was the IBM iSeries Servers line. Upon reading the reviews on the internet and hearing some of my friends rave about it, I decided to get one for my business. It has been almost a year now since I have been using the server and I am yet to experience a major glitch (I am hoping that I won’t ever experience one).

The disk drive is the lifeline of my business so I need a sturdy reliable disk that can store all my data. I found it in theIBMiSeries disk drives. It is an industrially built so it can withstand the deluge of data that I store in them without worrying that it will crash. Needless to say, I am very satisfied with my server.

Dad loves AS servers

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

I was reading a daily and I chanced upon an article about computers. Although, it really didn’t ignite interest but I still tried to read it.  I find it enjoyable although it was too technical to comprehend. It was much better to be aware on how computer works than using it without understanding a bit of it. I was fascinated about how the system works and the importance of having a good server. The article also includes about numerous computer hardware such as AS/400 serversand the likes.

I shared it to my dad who is more technology-driven than my mom, and he was too excited to learn new things. The day after, we decided to go to a computer shop and it was really a great fun. The sales clerk was accommodating and she was answering all our queries regarding computers including the hardware’s and software’s. She also reiterated about the importance of having a good server like RS/6000 servers, which can efficiently improves your time to browse the internet.  Indeed, my dad and I look forward for another bonding and we plan to include mom into it.

Used IBM Servers Still Perform Great

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

One of the best things about great product manufacturers like IBM is that they never fail to live up to expectations. One proof of this is the lifespan of used IBM pSeries Servers that are still in use today. I happened to see one in action just recently and I was pleasantly surprised to know that such a piece of equipment can withstand the test of time seeing how fast technology advances.

But what shocked me even more was when I asked the manager of the firm that had the used IBM pSeries about when they bought it he told me it was only the second week since they purchased it from an online company. He proceeded to tell me how lucky he was to stumble upon the site since they really needed a server but they couldn’t afford a brand new one. I asked him about maintenance and he said it wasn’t a problem since the company that sold it to them gave them a warranty plus they can call in anytime for servicing if the need arises. It was really amazing to hear him say that.

In need of a Business Computer Server

Friday, August 13th, 2010

Our IT department passed a request to add a computer server to make their work faster. I was assigned to look for the best business computer server Raleigh. It took me a while to find the best place to get a computer server that would suit our needs. I have to ask friends to direct me to a shop that also knows computer networking service Raleigh, because there are a few questions that I would like to ask in regards to networking.

The store has a lot of merchandise that range from computer parts to computer peripherals. I then told them what my company needs and they offered some recommendations. After telling my boss the “specs” of the PC that they recommended, he gave me the go signal to purchase the unit. The IT department appreciated their new computer server and made good use of it. Indeed, their overall productivity increased by 5% within the next few weeks. I didn’t expect that kind of improvement with just a single computer unit. I guess I still have more things to learn when it comes to the latest advancement in the computer industry.

A Loyal Customer

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

I have been using HP SAN systems for over 6 years now. With a wide array of storage network devise, it really makes file transfer and file storage easy for my company. Before SAN system, our company usually had a lot of trouble transferring and storing data from one computer to another. It was always a burden to my employees to retrieve files because of the complex programming it requires to perform.

Luckily one of my technicians suggests changing our storage system to HP Storage system. At first I had a doubt because as far as I knew, those systems were way too expensive for our company and buying the entire system would cost too much for us. But he told me that there was a site that sells used and that it only cost about half the price of those brand new ones. So I checked out the site and true to his words, to those products was way cheaper than brand new ones and also the brand that I’ve been using for.

Now we are thinking of expanding our business and those we have contacted the site and that we are only waiting for our orders to arrive.

Afraid No More

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

I am never used of buying reconditioned items. I always am in fear that I will just waste my money on it, as I am not so sure that the item was fixed properly. I have heard some friends complaining about refurbished items they bought. They said that the item breaks easily, and they need to pay more to have it fixed. Of course, I do not want to commit the same mistake.

However, when I needed to buy my IBM xSeries unit some parts in order for it to be fixed again, I was forced to buy refurbished ones. It was actually my husband who told me about this online shop where his company bought reconditioned IBM xSeries Servers before. He said that the company is very efficient and the products they sell perform like they are actually brand new.

I also tried to look for xSeries parts in some malls, but I did not have any luck. And so, I grabbed the option of buying Used xSeries components from the shop my husband is talking about, in order to have my unit fixed.

In the end, I was left happy and contended with my decision. Refurbished items are trustworthy after all.

Called In Favors To Get The Poweredge Servers Repaired

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

I just received a call from out store in Chicago; they are having a lot of trouble with their poweredge servers and cannot get a dell repair service to come out till Monday to check them out. I knew that there was no way they could go almost a week with faulty servers, so I called in a few favors. My brother lives about two hours from that store and he has a brother in law that is just as close, who is a dell repair man.

I made the phone call to my brother and explained the situation of how the store was having difficulty with their poweredge servers and asked if there was any way he could call his brother in law and beg him to drive the two hours to Chicago and repair the problem. He told me that he would try and I did not hear back from him for an hour.

In the end, my brother was able to get his brother in law to make the drive and repair the poweredge servers in the store. They are back up and running now and I am glad that I have such a great brother who was willing to help me.
