Exercising after Liposuction
Wednesday, November 28th, 2007Did you just have a liposuction? Are you afraid that doing exercises will hamper your chances of liposuction recovery?
Well it is not so. If you closely follow the guidelines of liposuction recovery you will not have a damaging effect even if you exercise after the liposuction surgery. In fact you should do a light exercise, like walking, immediately after a weight loss surgery.
After surgery you will lose your fat and as a result there might be some skin sagging. To counter this you need to exercise as well as eat more protein because this will help you to build muscle and stop skin sagging. However keep in mind that you need to follow the rules of exercise that liposuction surgeon must have highlighted to you. Start with a light aerobic exercise and after 6 to 8 weeks you can move to more vigorous exercise routine.
Do any exercise you are comfortable with- in fact you can walk, climb stairs, stretch, and even jog but avoid contact sports. It is also not okay to drive a car until you are off all pain medication. Liposuction is a great procedure to lose weight but at times you lose so much fat that the skin sags. In such cases you need to do proper exercises to tighten the skin as well as the muscle. So after this surgery exercise is a must as it paves your way for a speedier liposuction recovery.
